What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic practice that combines breathwork (pranayama), movement (kriya), meditation, and mantra. It is designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and expanded awareness.

Historically, Kundalini Yoga has been described as the yoga of householders — a practice designed for people living active, everyday lives rather than monastic retreat. Unlike renunciates who withdrew from society, Kundalini Yoga was practiced within the context of daily responsibilities: work, family, relationships, and community life.

In this way, it supports practitioners in building strength, resilience, patience, and inner stability while remaining engaged in the world. The goal is not withdrawal, but integration — becoming more grounded, present, and effective within one’s daily life.

Do I need experience to join a class?

No experience is needed. Classes are open to all levels, and beginners are warmly welcomed.

What should I expect in a typical class?

Each class is structured and led by a single teacher, guiding students through a specific kriya, breathwork, relaxation, and meditation. While the structure remains consistent, the focus or theme may vary from class to class.

What should I bring or wear?

Comfortable clothing you can move and breathe in, a water bottle, and a yoga mat (if you have one). Props are usually available if needed.

If you feel called, wearing white is traditionally used in Kundalini Yoga to help elevate and protect your energy. Covering your head is also optional and may help some students feel more grounded, centered, and supported during practice.

Is Kundalini Yoga physically intense?

It can range from gentle to moderately challenging depending on the kriya. The emphasis is not athletic performance, but internal awareness, breath, and energy flow.

There are no “levels” in Kundalini Yoga. Each student is encouraged to listen deeply to their body and use their own intuition throughout the practice.

If something feels out of reach, you are always welcome to modify your position, use props, or adjust the movement in a way that works for your body on that day. Some students also use visualization—sometimes described as “meeting the practice in your mind”—while the body works within its current capacity.

The intention is to meet yourself where you are, while gently expanding your edge over time. Progress, not perfection.

What are the benefits of Kundalini Yoga?

Practitioners often report:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Improved focus and clarity

  • Better emotional regulation

  • Increased energy and resilience

  • Deeper meditative awareness

  • A greater sense of grounding and presence

Over time, Kundalini Yoga is also understood as a practice that supports the awakening of your inner energy (Kundalini), helping to elevate consciousness and create shifts across mind, body, and life experience.

No. While this program offers certification, it is also open to those who feel called to deepen their personal practice and healing journey.

You are welcome to join the intensive for a minimum of 2 days as part of your own personal growth. Many participants come to explore Kundalini Yoga as a tool for healing from trauma, burnout, addiction patterns, or life transitions, and to reconnect with themselves in a supportive environment.
