What is flotation therapy?

Flotation Therapy is a deeply relaxing practice designed to support stress relief, relaxation, and restoration. The flotation pool contains 10–11 inches of water saturated with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt, creating incredibly buoyant water that allows you to effortlessly float. The water is heated to skin temperature (93.5°F), creating an experience where it becomes almost impossible to distinguish which parts of your body are touching the water and which are not — allowing the mind and body to settle into a profound state of relaxation.

Flotation Therapy Benefits

One of the most unique benefits of flotation is the opportunity to shift from the active beta brainwave state associated with everyday thinking and stimulation into the deeply relaxed theta state, which is often experienced during meditation, deep relaxation, and restorative states of consciousness. Many people describe one hour (or 90 minutes) in the float pool as feeling like several hours of deeply restorative rest, as the body and mind are able to access a state of profound relaxation and renewal.

Flotation Therapy employs similar principles to the relaxing and restorative properties of the Dead Sea. The combination of buoyancy, warm water, and magnesium-rich Epsom salt creates an environment where the effects of gravity are reduced, allowing the body to release physical tension and experience a greater sense of ease.

Our flotation spa is not a tank or a pod — it is a spacious flotation pool designed to provide a peaceful, open experience without the enclosed feeling some people associate with traditional flotation tanks.
